Position Description

Are you passionate about guiding and mentoring the next generation? Calvary Baptist Church in Stafford, Kansas seeks a full-time associate pastor to join our vibrant rural church family. You will play a critical role in shaping the lives of our youth and strengthening their faith through Bible study, engaging activities, and meaningful relationships. You will lead and coordinate various youth programs, including Bible studies, weekly youth group meetings, camp, and ministry initiatives. As an associate pastor, you will work closely with our senior pastor to provide spiritual guidance and support to our congregation and communities. This is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact for the sake of the Gospel in a rural setting. Who We Are: Calvary Baptist Church is a rural church in the heart of the agricultural communities of Stafford, St. John, and Hudson in Kansas. We currently have an active, multi-generational membership of 120. Our outreach-focused youth groups meet on Wednesday evenings and serve middle school and high school students. We are a member of the Great Plains Region of the North American Baptist Conference of Churches. We believe every follower of Jesus is a missionary, and our mandate is to equip Christ-followers for service in churches and communities in Kansas and around the world. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and facilitate youth programs, including weekly Bible studies, youth group meetings, camps, and social events to provide opportunities for spiritual growth and service. Provide pastoral care and support to young individuals, addressing their concerns and guiding them through life's challenges. Collaborate with other church leaders to integrate youth into the overall ministry and foster intergenerational relationships. Recruit, train, and mentor youth volunteers to assist in various youth programs and initiatives. Assist the senior pastor at times in planning and conducting worship services, including preaching, teaching, and leading prayers. Coordinate and assist in Stafford Ministerial Alliance events and ministries. Develop and implement strategies to engage and grow the congregation, including outreach initiatives and community events. Participate in leadership meetings and contribute to the overall vision and direction of the church. Requirements Strong faith and commitment to Christ. Strong knowledge of the Bible and Christian teachings. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively connect and engage with diverse audiences to connect, counsel, teach, and preach. Teachable Strong leadership abilities and the willingness to work collaboratively with a team, including the senior pastor, Christian Education Board, and Deacon Board Proficiency in using technology, such as Microsoft Office and social media platforms, to enhance church communication and outreach efforts. Effective and creative organizational and planning skills for activities, summer camps, mission trips, concerts, and other outreach events Strong, Gospel-focused commitment to teens while possessing the ability to work with all age groups Self-directed while maintaining consistent office hours Preferred, but not required Completed or working on a degree in theology or a related field from an accredited institution. Previous experience working with youth in a pastoral or mentoring capacity with an emphasis on outreach.
