ABU Happenings

We are at the halfway mark in our Fall 2019 semester and so much is going on at the campus of Arlington Baptist University!

In June, Jimmy McNeil, pastor of Pleasantview Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas, accepted the position of Interim President. ABU is thankful for his leadership during this transition time. Continue to pray for ABU and for Pastor McNeil.

Austin McNeil, college pastor at Pleasantview Baptist Church, spoke to the students at the Revival Fire chapel services in September. Several students gave their life to Christ which is an awesome way to start the school year!!

Our girls’ volleyball team is having a great season (11-4). Just had an exciting game against Randall University where we pulled out a win in 5 games. Senior night will be Thursday, October 17 at 5:00 pm against Jarvis Christian. Come out and watch our Lady Patriot Volleyball team!!

Ted and Kim Marvin will be leaving ABU effective October 18. Ted has accepted a pastor position in Bourbonnais, Illinois. Ted has been the Department Chair for Student Ministry and Kim has worked in the Business office for the last 8 years. They have also been the girl’s dorm parents for that time. They will miss the students and are so grateful for the opportunity they have had to work at ABU for 8 years.

The missions trip to Chicago is in the planning stages for January 2020. If you have questions as to how you can be a part of this amazing ministry, please contact Paddy Parks at pparks@abu.edu.
