A lot going on!!

The fall 2017 semester will be wrapping up on December 15. It has been a great year with a lot of successes. Our Lady Patriot volleyball team walked away with the National ACCA championship!! The men and women’s basketball teams have started their season and we are excited to see how they will do this year. Check out our website at www.abpatriots.com to find out their schedule. Why not come to the ABU campus and watch the Patriots play?

Barrett Weaver, our baseball coach, was hired as the Student Life Director and he has provided so many opportunities for our students to get involved on campus. There has been Cornhole Tournaments, Flag Football, Dodgeball Tournaments, cookouts, Whirlyball, and so much more! There is also the addition of a new Rec Room for the students, located in the south lobby of the gym. A small coffee shop has been added to provide coffee, snacks, and such to our students.

Our Business degree is in its 2nd year and growing in students each semester. Dr. Chris Rollwitz is continuing to work hard in developing this new program.

We are preparing to send a group of students and faculty to Chicago for the 4th year. They will once again be working with the Roseland Good News Community Daycare in Roseland, Illinois. The dates for the trip are January 26-February 2. We will be taking donations of socks, gloves, and hats. Please contact Kim Marvin at kmarvin@abu.edu if you would like to donate any items or contribute to any of the student’s funding.

Brenda Miller, one of our Education faculty members, will be taking a group of students to Europe this summer to fulfill requirements for a Literature class.

Our chapel services have been so powerful. Just recently we had graduate, Andrew Vandergriff speak in chapel and he spoke on our identity being in Christ and not in labels attached to us either by ourselves or by others.   Dr. Moody concluded our regular chapel session on Monday, December 4 with a powerful message about the cross. Within the last 2 weeks, 2 young girls have given their life to Christ!! Praise the Lord!

ABU has two “Real Life Institute” classes this semester. John Brown has been teaching Acts of the Apostles at Carbon Community Baptist Church, and Dr. Moody has been teaching New Testament Survey at First Baptist Paris. There will be another RLI class taught on the campus of ABU in the spring on Prophetic Books/Isaiah with professor Mike Evans. Contact the academic office for more information regarding that class and more.

We are still taking applications for the spring 2018 semester. Stop by and see Kim or Melissa or apply online at www.abu.edu.

So much happening at ABU! Stop by and see us! Come visit us for chapel! Come watch our Patriots play!

Come and be a WORLDCHANGER!
